Is life with an English lager lout really preferable to planting rice?

How many lager louts have settled relationships?
It is more likely that a 22-year-old thai girl will settle with a 62-year-old Brit / Aussie / Kiwi who is struggling to live off his pension.
Is this preferable to living in Issaan, watching the rice grow, being abused by father, brothers, cousins?
I would suggest that it would be very much more preferable.

I know of many that involve much younger, less gentle and often pretty awful English males. But yes life upcountry ain't much fun but then I do not really know!

All this talk on this site and on every other farang focused Thai site about why farangs and Thai women are or are not attracted to one another. All the speculation about intentions and legitimate vs. bogus feelings. Does she really love him yadda yadda yadda? Does he really love her or did he have a more complicated agenda? Etc.

GET OVER IT. None of what goes on between two human beings is any of your business.

I agree and disagree it would be a very boring world if we gave up on gossip!
But I think there is a discussion here because there is much talk about why is there so much prostitution in Thailand. Clearly the main reason is poverty and lack of prospects!
